UPDATED 3/19/2020 at 9:21 am EST:

Good Evening,
I just wanted to bring you up to speed on our approaches for the COVID-19 outbreak. We are going to take this process day by day. As we are closely related to the Washington County-Jonesborough Library, where the genealogy and history center is and our meetings are held in the meeting room, we will be watching their schedule. As they announced today, they will be closed until further notice beginning tomorrow, March 18th. Also, the Town of Jonesborough has cancelled many public events. We will be watching to see how the Town and Library respond and when they reopen.
So at this time, the only event that is cancelled is our Genealogy Day scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at 9:30 am. We will reschedule this day with speaker Ann Blomquist on Using Maps for Genealogy. We are sorry for any inconvenience, but on the side of caution, we feel this decision is best. Please stay safe and follow our Facebook page and group or our website. After communication with the Jonesborough Library, we will be cancelling our Help Night on Thursday, April 9th as well as our April Genealogy Day on Saturday, April 25th. Due to the COVID-19 Outbreak, we have decided to postpone the Washington County, TN Heritage Fair to a later date. This date will be announced as soon as we know when it will be. Please stay tuned. We will be in touch with all our organizational partners, speakers, and living historians as soon as we know more in the coming days.

Also, as we are watching the situation, our society’s newsletter is also being produced. If you have a story you would like for us to place in The Jonesborough Record, please send it to us. We also accept articles for our column, “Digging For Your Roots.”
Thanks
