Where Stories Are Discovered!

Welcome to the Jonesborough Genealogical Society’s website. We are honored to have you visit!
The Jonesborough Genealogical Society was founded in 1990 by a small group of people who were interested in their family history and seeing the development of a history and genealogy section of the Washington County-Jonesborough Library. Today, the Jonesborough Genealogical Society has grown to over 100 members and has met many goals over the years. To see our progression through time, visit our timeline by clicking here.
As of July 2019, Jonesborough Genealogical Society is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

The Jonesborough Genealogical Society is also a member of the Heritage Alliance of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, Tennessee Genealogical Society, Jonesborough Area Merchants and Services Association, and the East Tennessee Historical Society.
